i use currently use yves rocher calmille moisturizer and things like blistex, carmax, chapstick, and burts bees. i suggest lip products with chamomile, lavender, or helichrysum (all of these essential oils have anti-inflammatory properties) or other soothing herbals. or an all natural cream made with
all natural, this was one of the products that i became sensitive to that gave me a rash). i would also recommend not using blistex, carmax, chapstick, etc which all contain vaseline/mineral oil which has no nutrients, does nothing to heal the skin, and over time actually dries out the skin. burt's bees...

deliriously fragrant flowers have almost always been out of my reach. i am usually happy to stand on tippy toes to pluck a few flowers on low growing branches. but i am happier still, to stand beneath a tree in fullest fragrant blossom, to observe the humm and drone of perhaps thousands of drunken bees
(okay, now back to the linden tree story....this will all make sense shortly, i promise) home with baskets of fresh linden flowers, i am again reminded of the deep peace that comes from working with this tree, surrounded by the bees and the sweet smell. the fragrance lingers in my truck, in my kitchen...

. this is the white vitex bush out back. it has a bit of a pink tinge and is much more prolific than the purple. also, the berries are more fragrant. so there are more berries, and they smell stronger. that old bumble bee sure seems to like it. i've noticed this season that instead of little honey bees
, we are inundated with bumble bees. down on the hillside, i found a nice patch of wild yarrow. i would love to see it expand enough so that next year i could distill it. black eyed susans and yellow coneflowers.... they are having a riot on the hill. many different varieties and many different shades...
