reply phil on october , at : am i definitely prefer straw from an organic farm (conventionally-grown hay/straw may have pesticide residues), but i don't get too hung up on the crop it's from. it's a bonus if it's from a legume like alfalfa, but i'll take rye, wheat, buckwheat, whatever. reply david on
